Po'ipu, Part I

April Fool's Day brought winter conditions on the north shore (and by "winter" I mean a few clouds, cooler temps, and most importantly choppy water), where the two main beaches were actually closed for the day, so we drove 45 miles to southern Po'ipu Beach, known for its calm winter waves. The north shore tends to calm down in the summer, which we were holding out for in the next couple days (it would not disappoint). Visibility wasn't great, my camera battery died, and we got wicked sunburns, but other than that, it was great!

One of a couple new species I saw before the camera died: the Orangeband Surgeonfish

Not sure what this is, but look at the eyelashes -- seductive!
